Good Grief....Are We Done Yet???

Uh, that would be a no!! Okay, so all the wallpaper is down and the walls are clean of paste and gunk!  I should be painting but....that can't happen just yet.  You see, the wallpaper has been up for over 25 years and when Harley Man steamed it all off...well, we have some pitted walls!!!  No..not his fault at all....it's the darn wallpaper's fault.  Harley Man was a saint to get it all off and I can't thank him enough for all his hard work.  I will NEVER, EVER put up wallpaper again, NEVER!!!

So today, we have the drywall contractor here mudding(skimming is the technical term) the walls to get them all smooth and beautiful again so I can paint.  Yep, more men in the house!!!  It's only 12 days till Christmas, right???  So much for an easy paint project. Nope, panic has not set in just yet!  I mean..I have 11 more days!!!!!!!!!!  Oh yeah, say a prayer for a miracle if you will please!!!  Thank you so much!

By the way, I finished painting the living room walls and all that wood trim is painted!!!  (Forgive the rest...I need to clean the windows and the furniture is still in the trailer) The rails have sealer painted on them!!! Yay, professional painters!!!  I had the painter(he was doing the porch rails) come in to give me an estimate on painting the hallway and dining room (goodness...no wonder they love their work). While looking around he asked me who painted the living room because I they did a really good job! Go, Deb!!!!  At least I have something to celebrate!!! Lol! Now where's that wine bottle???

The Floors Are In...Now What???

 Hallelujah, the floors are finished and the porch railing is up (not stained yet but that will happen soon enough once the contractor gets back here)!!! I am so excited to have this completed and get my house back to myself!! LOL! Nothing like having people everywhere to put a damper on what can get done during the day. Don't get me wrong..I knew they'd have to be here but there isn't lots one can do while 1/2 of your house is being torn up and redone!!! Limits movement too!

Now comes the hard part (for me anyway), painting the rooms.  Yep, that's the next step in this refurbishing process I've decided to take on.  So I'm off to Lowe's to get all the paint and items I'll need to start my painting adventure!!  Notice I said me...yep, this is a one woman show at this point since Harley Man works all day and I'm the "lady of leisure" or "work at home woman" as I call myself!! Ha Ha

So for now....I'll leave you with some photos of the new floors and the porch railings!  Oh yeah, I have to get a floor duster to clean up those beautiful new floors...don't own one of those just yet!!  So please forgive the dusty prints on the new floors....gotta get those clean and shiny today too!

While everyone else is talking about their Christmas decorating....I'm talking about refurbishing!!!  What is wrong with me???  LOL!!  Oh well, Christmas decorating will have to wait.  Wish me luck!!

Seriously Thursday?! Take Twelve!!

Seriously???!I've been invaded by men this week and it has not been very quiet around my house.  Saws buzzing, hammers pounding, boards clanking, nail guns clapping...between the new hardwood floors and the new railing going up on the front porch...it's been a tad noisy and it's only 8:30 AM!!!

Seriously???!Do you make lists?  Well in my family, I'm known as post-it note queen because wherever you look there's a post-it list hanging in...the car, bathroom mirror, fridge, computer...geez they are everywhere!!!  As if that isn't bad enough, I'm now making a list of all the projects I want completed around my house in the next few weeks and in 2012!!!!!  Hey, a girl's gotta do whatever she can to keep that crown!!!!

Seriously???!I am not a Black Friday shopper....never have been and hopefully never will be!!!  I am not into crowds, shoving and pushing, hanging out in the cold or crazy shoppers!!!  Nope, I'll just be content to shop online......it's much safer these days!!!
