Not Just An Apple For The Teacher!!

Even though I won't be starting a new school year in a few weeks, many of my teacher friends (side note: for me, this means anyone working in a school because they all are teachers in some way) will be!!  The beginning of the school year requires tons of work for teachers as they get their rooms ready for a new class of students.  Believe me...it's hard work to get everything in place and they do an awesome job year in and year out.

If you have a child starting school for the first time or a child returning to school, why not take the teacher a little something to start the year off on a "sunny" note!!  Many times teachers are remembered during "Teacher Appreciation Week" with small gifts or yummy food items.  I think it would be awesome for teachers to be "celebrated" at the beginning of a new school year as well.

With that thought, I found some amazing ideas and wanted to pass them along.  These take just a little while to put together...with school starting in about three weeks...you'd have plenty of time to get something ready!!!  A small act of kindness goes a long way!!

Fill In The Blank Friday (A Meme Of Sorts)!!

I'm heading over to The Little Things We Do so I can do Fill in the blank Friday with Lauren!

1. My go to outfit for a dress-up occasion like a wedding is my beige silky pantsuit.  I wore it to a wedding I attended with Prissy several years ago and just love it!

2. This week has been productive.  I went to Bman's to cook with her, started cleaning windows and curtains, bought a Click Free and backed up all my photos, had dinner with the family and such!!

3. When it’s dinnertime and I’m feeling lazy I’ll usually eat a bowl of cereal (if Harley Man is out of town) or I prepare eggs, bacon and biscuits.  Love breakfast for dinner!!

4. My favorite pair of shoes are my flip flops for summer and my black boots for winter.  Just can't do the 5 inch heel thing!!

5. A random item that I own that is completely unnecessary,but that I could never part with is my Teddy Bear collection.  I don't need them but I've loved collecting them over the years!!


6. My favorite person is my husband and of course, my two girls, my parents, oh goodness...just too many to name!  I know that's more than one but it's how it is!!!

7. If I were going to write my own blank it would say  A place I plan to visit in the next 5 years is _________________.

Blogging Is A Learning Experience!!

When I first began my blog, I was clueless as to what it all was about....can you believe that??  :)  I actually started my blog as a way to share ideas, information, places to visit, family adventures, etc...as well as, have an online journal of my life unpon retiring. 

As I've ventured into the world of blogging, I've been learning many new things.  The variety of blogs out there is just tremendous....mommy blogs, recipe blogs, travel blogs, book blogs, family blogs, organizing blogs, craft blogs, coupon blogs, giveaway blogs...the list is endless!!  It is just fascinating to me how creative people are with their blogs.

Another thing I've learned about: blog hops (http://successstreamsweb.com/what-is-a-blog-hop/)  and blog memes (http://thedailymeme.com/what-is-a-meme/) .  They can be for a specific day, for answering a set of questions, for sharing ideas or as a way to get to know other bloggers by visiting their blogs and leaving comments.  Of course, I had to check them out and I've been so pleased I have.  It's a great way to find new blogs and learn tons of information!!

Since it's Friday, I decided to put up some Friday Blog Hops.  If you have a few minutes...you know, that down time when you just want something to do, check out one or two.  You might find a new blog to read.
